Dr. Murray Zucker, MD is the Medical Director for Happify Health. As a seasoned psychiatrist, with expertise in behavior change, patient engagement and new technology, Dr. Zucker oversees the development of digital therapeutic mental health interventions, clinical trials, and serves as a liaison to mental health professionals.
Dr. Zucker is committed to developing and implementing advanced technologies to improve access and outcomes in making inroads in how the global mental health epidemic is being addressed.
Prior to Happify, Dr. Zucker was the Chief Medical Officer for CHESS Health, and a consultant to the healthcare industry, advising on product development with a focus on new technologies and medical apps. Before that, he served as the Senior Medical Director of New Products and Innovation as Optum, the health services division of UnitedHealth Group, where he spearheaded the formation of a tele-behavioral service providing behavioral health care to medical clinics.
Dr. Zucker holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.D. from the University of Rochester, and did his psychiatry residency at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). His experience includes medical behavioral integration, patient engagement and adherence, health behavior change, and new technologies in diagnosis and treatment along with awareness of the needs of health plans, employer groups, and the public sector.
As a Healthcare specialist, Dr. Zucker appeared on TV on the Today Show, Good Morning America, 20/20, CNN, and LA Evening News. Has also been featured on the radio regarding behavioral issues, and in prominent newspapers and magazines, including the Wall Street Journal, LA Times, and People Magazine. Dr. Zucker has advised National Health Plans, Hospitals, National Employers, Medical Providers, Media Outlets, and Startups.
